New Service:
- If you need a new electrical service or an upgrade of existing service, you need to call our engineering department at (970) 867-5688, Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm
- When calling for an estimate over the phone, or setting up an appointment to meet on-site, please have the township, range and section of the property or at least the county and crossroads available to look up the property on our maps
- After meeting on-site and receiving all paper work and money due, we are out on construction about 4-5 weeks, depending on work load at the time
Rebates available:
- MCREA and Tri-State offer rebates on new motors and some re-wound motors above 10 hp - this is not just for irrigation motors. MCREA also offers rebates for purchases of new energy efficient appliances. Please see the Energy Efficiency Rebates page or contact our Member Services Department at (970) 867-5688.
Cost of Construction:
The cost of installing service varies greatly depending on many factors.
- Single or three phase power
- Overhead power lines or underground power lines
- Type of terrain
- Right of ways
- Highway crossings or railroad crossings
- Size and type of service requested
Main Line Extensions (Estimate only):
- Single Phase - $1,200 to $1,500 per pole (approximately 275' between poles)
- Single Phase Underground - $10.00 to $12.00 per foot
- Three Phase - $2,400 to $2,800 per pole (approximately 275' between poles)
- Three Phase Underground - $18.00 to $20.00 per foot
- Cost of transformers and/or meter loops vary depending on size
Member Responsibilities:
- Membership to the co-op is a $5.00 fee
- Letter of credit from current utility supplier or a $250.00 deposit
- Signed utility easement - Right of Way
Cost to install new service is the responsibility of the new member and is payable before scheduling of construction
