Cooperative Youth Leadership Camp
For nearly three decades, the electric cooperatives of Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Wyoming have conducted an outstanding educational seminar known as the Cooperative Youth Leadership Camp. Every July, nearly 100 high school students travel to Glen Eden resort in Clark, CO (near Steamboat Springs) after being selected by their local cooperatives as participants. Selected students must reside within the outer boundaries of MCREA's service territory and their parents or grandparents must be MCREA members. Application is open to sophomore, junior, and senior students.
The primary objective of the camp is to provide an educational experience for young people on the organization and operation of a cooperative. The 2024 CEEI Cooperative Youth Leadership Camp also offers a great opportunity for high school students to learn about electricity, government, and build on their communication and leadership skills.
Participants also enjoy many fun activities, including sand volleyball, a dance, pizza parties, a banquet, a trip to the top of Mt. Werner, and a raft trip on the Colorado River!
Next summer's camp begins Sat., July 13, 2024 and ends Thurs., July 18, 2024.
Application Deadline: Wednesday, January 17, 2024
