Begin/Change Residential Electric Service

Those wishing to activate or make changes to residential electric service may do so by stopping by MCREA headquarters, or can get the process started by filling out the online application.

Please note that the online application is for residential/home service only.  Business, irrigation, and other large power consumers must either come into MCREA headquarters or call 970-867-5688 to activate/change service.

For new service applicants - a $5.00 membership fee, a valid photo ID from applicant AND a valid photo ID from co-applicant (if applicable) is required, along with either a $250 deposit or a favorable letter of credit from your previous electric provider (twelve month history with no late payments).

For current members wishing to change existing service - a valid photo ID from applicant AND a valid photo ID from co-applicant (if applicable) is required.

Depending on the situation, additional forms may be required by the Engineering Department. Once the applicant submits the online form, an MCREA representative will contact the applicant by phone within one business day to facilitate any fees, deposits, or other necessary information.
