MCREA Lineworker Scholarship Application

Deadline to Apply: Friday, April 18, 2025

Availability: 

The Morgan County REA Lineworker Scholarship will be awarded to applicant selected by the Lineworker Scholarship Committee. Applicant must reside within the boundaries of MCREA’s service area in order to be considered.

  • Scholarship is $5,000.
  • Scholarship applicants may be any person interested in a career in electric line work that will or has completed high school or its equivalent and is enrolled in or currently attending power line school. Assuming applicant has met the age requirements for enrollment in a lineworker training program, there are no age restrictions to apply for MCREA’s Lineworker Scholarship.

Selection Process: 

Morgan County REA's Lineworker Scholarship Committee will review all completed applications that are submitted. Applicants must meet scholarship requirements in order to be considered. Based on application, the committee will select applicants to participate in an interview.

Post-School Employment: 

Scholarship recipients are in no way guaranteed or required to be employed at Morgan County REA upon completion of training.
