Update on SB 13-252

SB 13-252 is now in the hands of Governor Hickenlooper for his signature or veto.  The governor has until June 7th to veto the bill, sign it, or do nothing (in which case the measure will become law).

The final version of the bill includes a 20% renewable energy standard for Tri-State Generation & Transmisison (MCREA's power provider) and a .75% Distributed Generation minimum directly to MCREA by 2020.  We are asking Morgan County REA members to contact the Governor and ask that he veto SB 13-252. This can be done with voice mails, emails, letters, etc.

Click HERE for instructions on how to send an email to Governor Hickenlooper.

The Governor's office phone number is: 303-866-2471

Address:

John W. Hickenlooper, Governor
136 State Capitol
Denver, CO 80203-1792

We appreciate all the hard work everyone has put into this grass-roots effort, and we ask that you make one last push to ask the Governor to veto the bill.

E-Bill is now MCREA/Online

Morgan County REA's online bill pay service - formerly known as "E-Bill" - has a new look and a new name.  MCREA/Online works exactly as the old "E-Bill" service, but now has a hopefully less confusing and more recognizable name.

MCREA/Online still allows MCREA members to pay online with a check (for any account) or credit card (Irrigation, Large Power & Industrial accounts excluded). You can also review your current account information, view past monthly statements, access capital credit refund information, and sign up to receive your monthly statements by email. It’s quick, easy and secure, and it saves you a stamp! To get started simply click on the MCREA/Online graphic (upper right of the home page) or "Online Bill Pay" in the Quick Links section.

Once you click on either of those links on the homepage, the other pages for the online bill payment service will continue to say "E-Bill" for the time being. This is not an error - you are at the right place....continue with your process as normal. We are expecting to have the new name and logo on the rest of the online bill pay website pages soon.

Thanks for using MCREA/Online!

Experiencing a power outage?  Send us a text!

Morgan County REA members now have the ability to send us a text message to report an electrical outage.  This service will provide an alternative to calling us in an outage situation.  “The new service is faster and just as accurate as a phone call,” states MCREA Director of External Affairs Dave Henderson.  “Almost 60% of Americans currently text. The percentage for our membership might be slightly less than that, but that percentage is increasing. For those who prefer to text, this new service is the perfect solution.”

Here are the steps you need to follow to have the ability to text power outages:

  1. Call the Morgan County REA Billing Department (970-867-5688) to make sure we have your cell phone number(s) recorded in our system. This is very important. If we do not have your cell phone number(s) on file the outage texting service WILL NOT work.

  2. After you have given MCREA your cell phone number(s), you may register for the service. You can do this by clicking on the green "outage texting" button above the Quick Links at right. The registration process is simple and takes less than two minutes.

  3. You will be given an outage “texting number.” Add this number to your contacts list on your cell phone so it’s ready when an outage occurs.

Now you are ready to text us in the event your power goes out. Please call the office during normal office hours (Mon – Fri, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm), if you have any questions or comments.
